The Bahrain Forum for Human Rights (BFHR) said that two women were arbitrarily arrested on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at dawn, from Nuwaidrat area, during an illegal raid at 3:15 am, during which some property and private belongings were confiscated. The BFHR pointed out that the two arrested ladies are Zakiya al-Barbarouri (28) and Fatima Dawoud Hassan (19). The BFHR further said that since the beginning of 2018, five women have been subjected to unfair trials, and there have been five cases of torture and ill-treatment, including the case of detainee Fawzia Masha’ Allah, who was denied treatment in February, and detainee Hajar Mansour. The BFHR added that there are still nine women detained for reasons related to freedom of expression and peaceful assembly.
