Yusuf Rabi: the Bahraini authorities are still using the tools of intimidation in the arrests

 

The president of the Bahrain Forum of Human Rights, Yusuf Rabih said that the Bahraini authorities are still using the tools of intimidation in the arrests carried out against citizens in contradiction to what it pledged in Bassiouni recommendations, decisions of the Geneva and the international instruments it singed upon

Rabih clarified that the security authorities had conducted at the dawn of today Monday 14/4/2014, wide arbitrary arrests in Aly region by using the helicopter which represents a terrorism against citizens in these times, and the number of detainees reached 12 ones adding that these arrests were accompanies by the raids of citizens homes with a large number of former patrol of the Ministry of Interior whereas the authorities took place without a judicial authorization

Rabih considered that these intimidation practices conducted by the security authorities against citizens, is a clear indication about the dominance of an official terrorism within the Bahraini State which led to undermine any chance for political reconciliation

He called the United Nations to exert pressure on the Bahraini government to allow the visit of the special security rapporteur Ikhwan Mandez to Bahrain, to assess the situation of human rights violations, especially the file of ​​torture violations
