Bahrain Forum of Human Rights: the invocation of the jurist Al-Musawi is a strike for the human rights work and violation pledges
The Bahrain Forum of Human Rights said in a statement that "the recall of the resigned attorney and the Chairman of the Department of rights and freedoms in Al-Wefaq association, Mr. Hadi al-Musawi to investigate with him about the received torture complaints and to question him about those who work with him in the field of human rights monitoring aims to restrict the activity of observing workers in the field of human rights which represents a strike toward the human rights activity in civil institutions and a clear infraction to the pledges ratified by the Bahraini government
The Forum continued: "Instead of holding the involved individuals in torturing more than 1900 people by the Authority in Bahrain, allowing the UN rapporteur Ikhwan Mandez to visit Manama, and put an end to the policy of impunity that caused a large number of victims, it resorted to impose security and terrifying measures against defenders of human rights, "signifying that" during January, February and March 2014, 32 cases of torture were monitored."
The Forum added: "The way they were recalled the prominent jurist Hadi al-Moussawi, through the raid on his house and his father's house in the middle of the night without showing the arrest or search warrant is the same situation hundreds of citizens who are arrested arbitrarily and in manner contrary to the law are exposed to"
The Forum concluded his statement by demanding the international human rights organizations, particularly the UN High Commissioner of Human Rights to put pressure on the authority to protect the activity of human rights defenders and their organizations, based upon the international conventions article ratified by the Bahraini government, in addition to Bassiouni recommendations and Geneva decisions
