Yusuf Rabia: Giving priority to the security option in Bahrain reveals the dominance of the oppressive environment against human rights
The president of the Bahrain Forum of Human Rights, Yusuf Rabih, said that the number of the judiciary sentences issued in the three first months of 2014 of the security cases related to political claims reached 65 judicial sentences the majority were by denouncement showing the predominance of security option within the structure of the state and also reveals a clear dominance of oppression that are in their fact hostile to the internationally acknowledged human rights
Rabih added that the issues against the accused in these sentences are concentrated on the mob and rioting and attempted murder of police which are usually questioned by the Opposition Political Associations and considers it charges in the (political maliciousness
Rabia described a statistic of the issued sentences published by the Al- Wasat newspaper today 1 April, that it reflects a duality of law enforcement in which it is strict with those accused in the political security issues of life imprisonment for 15 to 10 years, in addition to the sentence of death, and on the other hand, these sentences indulge with those involved members belonging to the Ministry of Interior in which it included two policemen acquitted of the assault charge on the integrity of the others body and forcing them to confess during the arrest.
Rabih affirmed that these sentences would not have been issued without the dominance of tyranny which gives the security option a priority in dealing with the political crisis in the country, which entails about the closure of political choice as followed by the increase of the pace of repression, violations and restriction of freedoms and other human rights issues
Rabih stressed to ensure the right of citizens to a fair trial as constitutional and humanitarian demand
