After its arrest of more than 500 children and the involvement of killing 19 children and embryos
The Bahrain Forum of Human Rights: the security services punish the childhood: it arrested the family of a baby girl and left her alone at home
The Bahrain Forum of Human Rights said that “the abandonment of the baby girl Aya Abdullah Al-Erady (3 months) alone at her home after the arrest of her parents from their apartment illegally in Sar region, is one of the violations’ patterns that the authorities are professional in using it to revenge from the detainees of opinion, and an offensive targeting in punishing the childhood for political and sectarian backgrounds, in contravention of the International Child Rights Convention which the government has announced its entry into implementation after joining it in 1992, demanding the immediate release of the baby girl family and to hold the involved accountable.
The forum continued: “these practices are established within the security services which return the production of the State Terrorism in multiple images and last but not least was the exploitation of a humanitarian situation of Bahraini children as a method of political revenge and an expression of formal regression in dealing with citizens, as well as the subjection of this age to different patterns of violations, where a complaint was previously sent to the UN Special Rapporteur on Children”
The Forum added: “the subjection of more than 500 Bahraini children for arbitrary detention since the beginning of the events in 2011, until now, whereas the authorities are involved in killing 19 children and embryos illegally and some children are subjected to the military trial, as well as that others have been prosecuted under the terrorism law, in which these violations constitute a breach of the Child Rights Convention”
It concluded:” today in Bahrain there are a slice of children wanted and hunted by the security services for issues concerning the right of expression and the peaceful assembly, as well as imprisoned children without abiding by law during investigation with them such as extracting confessions under torture by means degrading to human dignity and contrary to constitutional provisions and international conventions”
