To read the statement in Eglish please click here To read the statement in French please click here In an urgent humanitarian appeal, 166 civil and human rights organizations signed a statement in three languages (Arabic, English and French) calling on the international community to lift the sanctions against Syria and allow the supply of materials and secure access to them, stressing the necessity of facilitating the passage of humanitarian aid convoys to the affected areas, and opening all borders, ports and airports with Syria for the passage of aid, as well as allowing the collection of material and donations and their delivery to the affected areas. The signing organizations condemned double standards and politicization in dealing with the devastating earthquake that struck both Turkey and Syria, calling for the aid of both Syria and Turkey without discrimination or politicization by sending rescue teams immediately, and securing medical and food aid, heating means and other urgent needs. The organizations that signed the statement are from more than 21 Arab and foreign countries: Palestine, Yemen, Syria, Bahrain, Mauritania, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Sudan, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Egypt, France, Norway, Switzerland, countries from Latin America, and Arabic organizers in Belgium, Germany and Ukraine. |
