Las organizaciones civiles y de derechos humanos abajo firmantes expresan su profunda preocupación por la continua exacerbación del sufrimiento humano en Yemen, que entra en el octavo año de guerra y bloqueo, ante las trágicas condiciones humanitarias en todos los niveles, ante la escasez de ayuda que no cumple con los requisitos mínimos, y ante la catastrófica escalada numérica, que amenaza a más de 20 millones de ciudadanos yemeníes con el hambre y el hambre, con la interrupción de sueldos y salarios y la continuación de las restricciones impuestas en puertos y aeropuertos.

El número de víctimas de bombardeos y asedio -según estadísticas emitidas por organizaciones yemeníes de derechos humanos- entre niños y mujeres mayores de ocho años, superó los 13.437 muertos y heridos, y el número de mujeres y niños muertos alcanzó los seis mil 312, incluidos dos mil ,436 mujeres y tres mil 876 niños, mientras que el número de heridos mujeres y niños es de siete mil 125 heridos, de los cuales dos mil 862 mujeres y cuatro mil 263 niños.

 

En cuanto al número de desplazados, ascendió a cinco millones 159 mil 560 desplazados hasta fines de agosto de 2022, dentro de 740 mil 122 familias. Según un informe de la ONU, 60.000 mujeres han perdido a sus maridos, y el número de familias encabezadas por mujeres a nivel de Yemen ha llegado a 417.000. Además, casi 6,1 millones de estudiantes y alumnas sufren el colapso del sistema educativo y unas 3.500 escuelas quedan destruidas o dañadas. También hay dos millones 400 mil niños sin escolarizar, mientras que el número de niños que enfrentan la interrupción de la educación puede ascender a seis millones de niños.
