Bahrain Forum for Human Rights, an independent gathering on human rights, seeks to promote commitment to the principles of human rights and adopts pursuit of those involved in human rights violations in Bahrain. It was launched at the human right’s conference opening: (human rights violations in Bahrain) in Beirut on 5-6 October 2011, It is a member of the Global Alliance to End Statelessness. ?Why
Bahrain is a small country; its total area is estimated at 591 km2. Its population is about half a million (560 m) .Citizens in Bahrain enjoy openness and tolerance. On 14 February 2011, Bahrain witnessed popular protests in conjunction with mobility of Arab revolutions, demanding just humanitarian demands, but the absence of fair policies made the authorities deal with the protest severely and the result was a grave and systematic violation on civilians, thinkers, activists, institutions and different bodies. Those involved in violations are individuals and entities represent the Bahraini authorities. Bahrain Forum for Human Rights seeks to improve human rights in Bahrain’s local community through publishing human rights culture and to document the violations internationally prohibited and highlight the importance of prosecution before national courts and if impossible then before international courts to pursuit those involved in violation and to encourage individuals and institutions to do its duties Work areas
Bahrain forum for human rights is working with various institutes of Bahraini community in the following areas:
- Communicating with international human rights bodies and organizations and civil community institutes - issuing human rights reports which is well documented to serve as legal documentations - file lawsuit against those involved in violations and crimes -issuing statements and appeals on human rights status
- holding conferences, symposia, seminars and organizing human rights gathering and stances - participating in periodic review sessions of Human Rights Council in addition to human rights workshop and conferences - publishing a different culture of immunity - reducing the use of weapons outside the framework of law - promoting the principles of human rights, democracy and transitional justice WWW.bfhr.org Email: [email protected] [email protected]
