The BFHR organizes a photo exhibition about human rights violations in front of the Human Rights Council In conjunction with the fourth Universal Periodic Review session on Bahrain in Geneva, on November 7, 2022, the Bahrain Forum for Human Rights (BFHR) held a photo exhibition in the "Broken Chair" square in front of the Human Rights Council building. The exhibition showed some of the violations that the Bahraini people have faced in light of the political and human rights crisis since 2011. The exhibition was covered by some media outlets and was attended by some human rights figures, including Mr. Euloge Nkounkou, permanent expert diplomat at the United Nations and candidate for the United Nations General Secretariat. The exhibition lasted for three days, during which an explanation was given to the visitors about the pictures that were displayed. They reflected the deterioration of the human rights and political situation in Bahrain, in light of the repressive behavior of the Bahraini authorities, that have not taken into consideration the young or the elderly, and have caused victims of different age groups and of both sexes. In addition, the authorities have directly targeted citizens participating in peaceful protests, political dissidents, human rights activists, as well as houses of worship and independent media. |
